Abstract:
The authors measured the agglomeration degree of Chinese cultural industry from 2005 to 2009 by means of industry concentration index and Herfindahl index and analyzed the cultural industry agglomeration characteristics from the regional and industrial perspectives. The conclusion indicates that the profit making cultural industry’s agglomeration degree is higher, but in recent years the index continued to decline. Commonweal cultural industry’s agglomeration degree is lower but presents a growing trend, among which the increase in art performance group is the greatest. From the perspective of regional distribution, cultural industry mainly gathers in the developed eastern coastal provinces and cities. The regional distribution is sharply unbalanced.
