An Empirical Analysis of China’s Rural Family Income Mobility: Based on the Income Transformation Matrix and Mobility Index

Abstract Based on rural survey data of CHNS, this paper used the income transformation matrix and income mobility index, and measured the income mobility of the rural household. The research results show that: China’s rural residents’ income mobility is mainly affected by changes in the location of the rural household income and the overall improvement of rural residents’ income, namely the displacement effect and growth effect. The effect of changes in income position is still the dominant factor, but its role is tending to weaken. Rural households are showing a layered curing trend.
