Abstract:
With the Stochastic Frontier Analysis (SFA) and Data Envelopment Analysis (DEA) approach, a comparative study is conducted on health panel data during 2002 and 2011 which from 31 provinces of China, and empirically evaluated the provincial Total Factor Productivity (TFP) of education and health human capital to economic growth, and analyzed the contribution of education and health human capital to economic growth. The results shows that the two methods both reflect that the provincial TFP of China is mostly in a constant growth process, but there are great differences between provinces. Health human capital gives the largest contribution to the regional economy while education human capital has not been fully exploited.
