Research on Relationship Between Top Management Team Characteristics, Salary and Financial Performance of Chinese Industrial Listed Companies

Abstract With multivariable linear regression method, this paper explores the relationship between top management team characteristics, salary and financial performance of Chinese industrial listed companies, and the regulating effect of equity concentration. The result shows that the top management team characteristics of Chinese industrial listed companies have significant effect on financial performance. Specifically, the average salary and tenure of office of the top management team and equity concentration all have positive effects on financial performance. Age heterogeneity has significantly negative effect. The average educational level and education heterogeneity have no significant effect. Equity concentration moderates the effect of top management team characteristics on financial quantity performance with varied degrees.
