Abstract The author used propensity score matching method, through balance test and sensitivity analysis based on 2010 Chinese General Social Survey data. The empirical results show that there is significant difference between union and non-union member in the salary gap before balance, but no significant difference after balance. Trade unions’ intervening effect on wage premium is not obvious, and the main cause of wage premium is worker’s resources endowment.
