Abstract In the light of work shop scheduling problem, the authors designed a production scheduling and decision-making support system in the context of flexible manufacturing environment. Based on the research state of work shop level scheduling system, the authors proposed a general framework for designing the decision making support system and introduced the concept of production optimization engine, and introduced the existing job scheduling model and algorithm into the design of decision-making support system as a model library. Moreover, the self-adaptability and self-matching of job scheduling algorithm is achieved, which meets the actual production need better
