Abstract Industrial cluster and cluster of the foreign direct investment have been a popular phenomenon in economic activity. The result of clustering methodology shows that FDI cluster and industrial cluster are highly identical in China. The multiple regression empirical analysis based on the data of China confirmed that classical trade theories are able to explain sussessfully the formation mechanism of industrial cluster and regional specialization, and it also tested that FDI in China has significant effect on the formation of industrial clusters and the disproportion of spacial distribution of industries.
