Abstract Based on the gravity model, this paper use panel data of Shanghai, Tianjin, Fujian and Guangdong from 2000 to 2012, and also uses system Generalized Method of Moments(GMM) to analyze the trade effect of FTZs in China. The studies show that: The trade effects of coastalFTZsare significant, and the trade effect of exportisstrengthened, trade effect of importisunaltered; The FTZspromote South-South and North-South trade, but the promotion of export to developing countries is not significant.
