Abstract The paper firstly reviews studies on the accounting of Chinese technology progress in industry,and then it will make use of the Malmquist Index Method of DEA to decompose the industry technology progress in China.The paper will also conduct an empirical test of factors according to the panel data.We find that the TFP of Chinese industry keeps rapid growth in the promotion of technical efficiency improvement and technical progress.The empirical results also show that R&D investment,enterprise average scale,capital strength and imports all have positive effect in promoting the industrial technical progress,but export and FDI all exhibit negative effect.
