An Analysis of the Relationship between Cultural Trade and Economic Growth——Based on Time Series Model

Abstract Cultural trade is an important part of international trade and has a significant effect on a country’s economic growth.This paper illustrates the influential mechanism between cultural trade and economic growth,then using the data from 2000 to 2013 to construct a vector autoregression model to demonstrate long-run dynamic relationship between cultural trade and economic growth.The results show that cultural import and cultural export can affect economic growth,and cultural trade has a lagging effect on economic growth.However,economic growth has no significant effect on cultural trade.According,the paper suggests that it is needed,to promoting the development of cultural innovation industry including cultural creation and designing;to facilitate the integration with related industry;to encourage small corporations’ entry into cultural industry;to accelerate “going out” of cultural goods and to improve cultural goods’ international competitiveness by developing featured products.
