Abstract Through calculating the agricultural production efficiency of provinces in China from 2003 to 2011 with DEA model, the article analyzed the correlation between agricultural producer services and improvement of agricultural production efficiency. The results indicated that the leading roles of agricultural producer service to agriculture were no less than industry. We also found that the development of agricultural producer services could enhance the competency of agriculture by lifting the agricultural production efficiency and have much more obvious effect in central and western region. Furthermore, transport, storage, communications and R&D industry have more significant influence on agriculture production efficiency than other producer services industry.
