Abstract Since joining WTO in 2001,with cost and production scale advantages,China has become a huge producer and exporter in household appliances.In recent years,the external market for China has shifted and the advantages in cost were weakened.China’s household appliances industry is now faced with new challenges such as the declining export.In order to cope with the new situation,China’s household appliances industry needs to explore new ways in improving competitiveness.Based on the analysis of the current situation and existing problems of China’s household appliances industry,using the evaluating model built on SWOT,this paper conducts an empirical study on the export situation of China's household appliances industry.The research results show the main factors influencing export include core competitiveness of products,potential of new and emerging markets,and integration of industries,etc,.This paper also offers advices in the development path of household appliances industry in China.
