Research on the Charging Model of Online Game Industry Based on Network Externality

Abstract A new charging model of online game is established in this paper, from the perspective of network externality, which is based on a consistency demand function of online game. The model tests significance of factors such as network externality, user accumulating cost, user structure and conspicuous consumption. Result shows that the network externality and user accumulating cost play a decisive role in the charging model, in addition, the structure of user and conspicuous consumption effect also have certain influence on the charging model choice.
