An Empirical Study on Decoupling Relation Between Carbon Emissions and Economic Growth——A Case Study of Henan Province

Abstract Using elastic decoupling method, the paper analyzes the decoupling relations between carbon emissions and economic growth in Henan Province from 2000 to 2010. Based on causal chain decomposition of thought, the paper pulls the elastic breaks decoupling emissions from economic growth, and researches the influence of decoupling factors quantitatively based on the logarithmic method. The results show that the relations between carbon emissions and economic growth in Henan Province are a weak decoupling in the most years; the energy consumption decoupling factor is positive influence on the decoupling between carbon emissions and economic growth, and it also plays a leading role in the process while the influence emissions decoupling factor is weak.
