A Research on Impact from Import Technology Diffusion and Indigenous R&D to Environment Regulation: ——Evidence from China’s Industrial Panel Data

Abstract This paper tests the impacts from import technology diffusion and indigenous R&D to environmental regulation by 2003~2010 China’s industrial panel data. The results show that import technology diffusion of cleaning industry has a significant positive effect on environmental regulation, but pollution-intensive industries negative, which in turn drives the whole industrial in significant negative effect. It is found that the higher the industry technical level is, the lower environmental negative effect is. The indigenous R&D has negative effect to environment regulation, but second R&D has positive effect.
