The Empirical Analysis of Farmers Bargaining Power’s Influence on Agricultural Products’ Sale Price

Abstract:
This paper uses the survey data of Shandong fruit vegetables farmers to analyze household bargaining power and its influence on the effect of farmers to participate in the negotiation behavior from the perspective of consciousness, ability and behavior. Research results show that: (1) Farmers bargaining power is significantly affected by householder's level of education, ability to get market information, the ability of judged the market information, join cooperatives and time to market of fruit vegetables. (2) The farmers bargaining power can significantly affect the farmers to participate in the bargaining behavior, namely the higher bargaining power of household, the possibility of greater participation in the negotiation. (3) Farmers' participation in bargaining, the key factor of agricultural product price increase is household bargaining ability. Based on this, this paper puts forward countermeasures and suggestions to improve farmers' bargaining power and bargaining participation.
